Vice President Juan Carlos Varela has revealed more details of the agenda of the trip to Washington by President Ricardo Martinelli that will begin tomorrow and will end on Friday.
While the highlight of the trip will be a meeting with U.S. President Barack Obama, Varela said that Martinelli will have a full slate of other meetings.
Martinelli will also meet with the president of the World Bank, Robert Zoellick, and with U.S. Customs Director Alejandro Mayorkas. The second meeting will be held to discuss the return of archaeological pieces to Panama.
Martinelli will participate in a lunch at the Smithsonian to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Tropical Research Institute in Panama, and will also address the 33 ambassadors of the Permanent Council of the Organization of American States.
