Institute training golf course workers
This past year, the National Vocation Training Institute launched a program to train people to work at golf courses.
More than 400 people were trained in the program, and coordinator Temístocles Rosas said many of them have already been hired. The institute is planning to offer additional programs in this area in 2011.
Panama has several golf courses under construction or in the planning stages, in addition to the existing courses. Each course requires a staff of about 50 people.
