Work will begin on Panama’s Metro Subway Line at the beginning of next (Monday, February 14) week along with the building of new intersections and road realignments. Confusion is expected for drivers as they will have to seek out new traffic patterns so that the construction can take place.
The Public Works Minister, Federico Suarez, announced on Thursday (February 10) that the metro line construction will begin on Monday February 14.
Government plan to call for bids to work on the intersection at the same time as the Panama Metro construction will take place.
The Minister of Public Works announced that there will be maps published in several different media sources that will outline the new traffic patterns.
Federico Suarez also clarified that people should prepare strategies for new routes when driving throughout the city while changes are being announced.
The next 4 years of construction for the Panama Metro Line and Road improvements will cause stress to drivers but will improve long term conditions.
