If you haven’t yet discovered Sabor de India yet, you mustn’t wait any longer. Situated in Bella Vista, in Panama City, this restaurant is by far the best ethnic restaurant in Panama. The food, price, ambiance, and owner all contribute to the overall excellent rating and quality.
This restaurant is situated on the same street as the famous traditional Panamanian restaurant, Las Tinajas and the Colombian restaurant, La Papa. The tables are clothed with Indian sheets printed with scenes from Indian folk tales. There is a comfortable outdoor patio with fans that create a light breeze or if you prefer air conditioning, the inside area is nicely decorated to suit your liking.
If you are the type of person that loves Indian food but have no idea what to order (a commonly expressed deterrent to going out for Indian), fear not, there are pictures! The menu is full of traditional and non-traditional items that are sure to excite your taste buds. There are about 15 options for Appetizers that include chicken kabobs, samosas, fried vegetables, and more. An array of other courses can be found in the vegetarian and meat sections that all range from $3-$9. The flavors are authentic, and can be spicy if you ask for it. We really enjoy the chicken tikka masala, the rotti (sort of like naan bread), the spinach and chick pea side, and the curried vegetables.
You can come here with a big group, order a few rounds of drinks, try lots of different flavorful dishes, while spending less than $15 each. Two super grande thumbs up for Sabor de India!
