This year’s Boquete Flower Festival takes place from January 13th until the 23rd. 2011 is a special year because it celebrates Boquete’s 100th founding year.
This year’s Centennial Exhibition will feature marigolds, carnations, roses, chrysanthemums, and other flowers of the region. There will also be a coffee exhibition from Boquete’s tops producers.
Alfredo Herrera, landscape architect, also revealed that this year there will be new designs that incorporate paths to allow people to walk through the gardens without damaging the plants, La Prensa reports.
The festival will be an enjoyable event for tourists, residents, and family to get together and appreciate the beautiful Boquete region and it’s local products. Along with flowers and coffee, there will be food, recreation, and crafts on location.
According to La Prensa, the Festival organizers expect more than 100,000 visitors injecting around $10 million to the local economy.
